Janet Ilene Larue

Janet Ilene LaRue, 89, of Waterford Ohio died at her daughters home peacefully on February 19, 2024. She was born October 3, 1934 in Parkersburg, a daughter to the late Harold and Mae Phillips.

She is survived by a son, Dan LaRue (Suzette) of Waverly, WV; a daughter, Terry Payne (Dean) of Waterford, Ohio; grandkids, Michelle Ryder (Scott), Angela Lemasters (Jeremy), Anjanette Noland, Brent Noland, Tracy Moore, Dustin Payne (Mindy), and Kristy Champer (Nolan); great-grandkids, Treyton and Trevon Ryder, Kenslee Lemasters, Korbin Noland, Emma Dahlgren, Finley Payne, Mahalah and Amara Geese, Collyn Schaad, and Silas Champer; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded by her son, Michael P. LaRue on September 9, 1959.

Janet lived all her life in Parkersburg, until the death of her husband, William R. LaRue (January 28, 2012) whom she had married April 13, 1954. She eventually moved to Waterford, Ohio, the home of her daughter. She was a 1952 graduate of Parkersburg High School. She was very faithful in the Lord.

She loved to travel, and shared her love with her husband and kids. As the years went on, they found a love for camping and boating. She was a wonderful crocheter and made so many beautiful blankets through her life that will be cherished. She loved her grandkids and great-grandkids with her whole heart, from baking cookies to playing card games, down to getting the best hugs from the youngest to the oldest. Everyone who met her, loved her. She never met a stranger. She gave with her whole heart and had the most generous soul. She was a teacher’s aide at Franklin Jr. High, and went on to work at Sears for many years. She spent her Tuesday evenings on a bowling league with her lady friends.

The family would like to thank Amedysis Hospice nurse Danielle and Pastor Willy for all their kindness while taking care of Janet.

Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 22, 2024 with Pastor Kevin Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday February 21, 2024 from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.
