Dr. Janet Isenhart, age 66, of Parkersburg, W.Va., departed this life at her home on March 21, 2016, following a long battle with chronic kidney failure. Dr. Isenhart, public school teacher at Franklin Elementary School, was a native of Gilmer County, W.Va., having been born in Cedarville on November 18, 1949, the daughter of the late Ernest and Gladys Whisman Isenhart. She was a graduate of Glenville State College and West Virginia University where she completed her Master’s of Arts degree and was awarded her doctorate in Curriculum Instruction and Reading Education in May, 1994. She was a very active member of the South Parkersburg United Methodist Church. She is survived by one brother, Roger of Clarksburg, W.Va.; two sisters, Marty Bunn of Cedarville, W.Va. and Anna Jean of Wellsburg; godchildren, Kristen Cunningham and Kristofer Knotts also of SC, and lots and lots of nieces, nephews, and great nephews and nieces. Dr. Isenhart was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Tom, Jack; and Ernest “Tink”; and three sisters, Carol, Beckie and Sharon. Memorial Services will be held at 6:30 PM on Wednesday, March 30, at the South Parkersburg United Methodist Church, 1813 Rayon Dr., South Parkersburg with Rev. Jim Plyburn officiating. Graveside rites and burial services will be held at Cedarville Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg is assisting the family.
