Jane Snyder
born June 5, 1936 Houston, TX - September 18, 2026
.... has gone to be with our Heavenly Father after ninety years living her life dedicated to serving The Lord and deeply honoring the words of the Bible. It was with quiet dignity that she walked God's path for her. As an amazing loving mother of two adopted children, she became, after over sixty years in West Virginia, a true West Virginian in every way deeply.
She had many interests like fashion and design, anything that had to do with colors and art, nutrition and health, the flowers and plants she kept, but reading was her true passion after caring for her family. She spent many many nights praying, falling asleep with her Bible. She did not like camping, especially in dad's old canvas tent.
She lived the last twenty-three years without the love of her life husband and missed him beyond words, but she stood strong with silent pride that she, with the help of God, would prevail after that loss.
Now, today, we as her family, those who loved her, those who knew her as mom, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, we are left with an emptiness, but her presence still with us in all the memories, the kindness, the hugs, the prayers, to go forth as she did always, with the wisdom of a true West Virginia mom.
She is survived by one brother, Thomas Johnston; one sister, Margaret Johnston; one son, Steven Snyder and wife Tia; one daughter, Susan Heck and husband Ed; seven grandkids, Allison, Megan, Hannah, Jessica, and Matthew, Erin, Emily, and great grandkids, Jack, Jane, Thomas, Mary, Quinn, Charlotte, Ezekiel, Ezra, Virginia, Anna, Parker, Journey, Lily and Jackie, Ella.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 25, 2026, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Parkersburg.
