James Allen Shafer, 74, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away on March 22, 2012 at his residence.He was born January 26, 1938, in Doddridge County, W.Va., a son of Edna Kathryn Perine Shafer and the late James Willis Shafer.James worked at several local automobile companies as an auto mechanic and enjoyed working on cars and clock collecting.He is survived by his mother, Edna Shafer of Parkersburg, W.Va.; two sisters, Evelyn (William) Tephabock of Washington, W.Va. and Linda (David) Coplin of Parkersburg, W.Va.; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Joseph Shafer.Graveside services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens with Pastor Roger Benson officiating.
