James Edward Reese

October 10, 1938 — December 21, 2019

James Edward “Ed” Reese, passed away December 21, 2019 at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV at the age of 81. He was born October 10, 1938 in Parkersburg a son of the late James and Mary Piggot Reese. He was a very loving Christian husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather. He left behind a loving wife, “Kay” Karen Leanna “Jeffries” Reese; three children, Rick E. Reese of Russel Springs, KY, Linda Kay Kostek and husband, Keith of Williamsburg, VA and Michael Bryon Reese and wife, Tammy of Parkersburg; five grandchildren, Michael, Nathan, Nikita, Kacee and Bryon; four great-grandchildren, Riley, Zoey, Ella Kay and Reese Lin; one sister, Betty Jean DeLancey of Parkersburg; two brothers, Robert Reese of Vienna and David and wife, Pat of Venice, FL; and several nieces and nephews He was a faithful member of New Hope Baptist Church from its beginning. He served as a Deacon and Trustee; worked with the cleaning crew and care group; made announcements in Sunday School Class and his pride and joy was his Nationwide Prayer Chain. He was a Mason, a member of the NRA and a J Dollar Breakfast Group member. In past years he was an EMT which he loved and was proud of. He worked as a heavy equipment mechanic, auto mechanic and retired from the City of Parkersburg as Supervisor of the Water Department. He loved God, family, and people. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2020 at New Hope Baptist Church with Pastor David Carrico officiating. The family will receive family and friends at 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the church. Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family with arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to New Hope Baptist Church, 1777 Rosemar Rd. Vienna, WV 26105.
