James E. Pfaff, 74 of Parkersburg and Pullman, WV died at OSU Wexer Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio on December 8, 2017. He was the son of the late Ralph and Nancy Pfaff; He was a Pipefitter by trade and a member of Local 565. He was an avid bee keeper and loved hunting. James was a Master at the South Fork Grange #520 and Overseer of WV State Grange. He was active in the Mid-Ohio Valley Bee Keepers Association and the Mountaineer Bee Keepers Association. He was a former Boy Scout leader of Troop 98 and was a Commissioner of the Kanawha Baseball League. He was also a member of the Moose, Eagles and Lions Clubs. He is survived by his wife, Beth Sams Pfaff; two sons, Michael Pfaff (Angel) and Marc Pfaff (Terri) of Parkersburg; two step-daughters, Jane Vanfossen of Parkersburg and Tamela Sams Mushrush (James) of Hurricane, WV; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard Pfaff (Diane) of Columbus, Ohio; and one sister, Dottie Prostinak (Mike). He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Jon Pfaff. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 12, 2017 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2333 Pike St. South Parkersburg. There will be no funeral service. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the James Cancer Center at Ohio State University @ 460 W. 10th Ave. Columbus, Ohio 43210
