James Edward Myers Sr., 66, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away on May 6, 2015 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.He was born October 29, 1948, in Parkersburg, a son of the late Alfred and Veronica Barnhouse Myers.James was a 1966 graduate of Parkersburg Catholic High School and retired after 32 years of service from Cytec Industries. After retirement, he worked in the maintenance department at Parkersburg News and Marietta Times. He enjoyed being outdoors and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church.He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Edna Johnson Myers; one daughter, Jenny Thomas (Dan) of Elizabeth, W.Va.; four sons, James Myers Jr. (Misty) of Vincent, Ohio, Jason Reeder (Kristen) of Munday, W.Va., Sean Reeder (Julie) of Godfrey, Ill., and Scott Myers (Leslie) of Parkersburg; two sisters, Phyllis Dotson of Little Hocking, Ohio and Judy Bennett (Sonny) of Belpre, Ohio; one brother, Paul Myers (Deloris) of Boaz, W.Va.; 20 grandchildren; two great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Earl and Betty Johnson; two sisters; and two brothers.Visitation will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 9, 2015 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg.Honoring James' request there will be no service.
