James Matthew Haverty

James Matthew “Matt” Haverty, 41, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away on Sept. 18, 2015 in Milton, W.Va.He was born October 24, 1973, in Parkersburg, a son of the late Theodore Haverty and Connie J. Farley.Matt earned his GED and went on to study with the Master Locksmith Apprenticeship Program and worked as a Master Locksmith. He enjoyed skateboarding and playing guitar. He was a Baptist by faith. Matt was a free spirit.He is survived by three sisters, Barbara Beikirch, Amber Semones and Stacy Haverty, all of Parkersburg; two brothers, Russell Haverty of Vienna, W.Va. and Scott (Kim) O'Donnell of Woodbridge, VA; nieces, Misha Dennis and Loni Beikirch; nephews, Sean Haverty, Kaiden Haverty and William O'Donnell; and his best friend, his dog, Sophie.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Martin O'Donnell; and one niece, Vanessa O'Donnell.A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., South Parkersburg. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service Sunday at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home to help cover the funeral expenses.
