James Fred Sullivan

J. “Fred” Sullivan, 83, of Parkersburg, passed away peacefully, February 17, 2026, surrounded by his family. He was born July 15, 1942 in Normantown, WV, a son of the late Homer D. and Ethel G. Butler Sullivan.

Fred was a 1960 graduate from Midview High School. Afterwards, he spent a little time in real estate before eventually becoming an auctioneer. Cherished memories are left behind with his loving wife of 30 years, Shirley McClain Sullivan; one son, Kyle Sullivan (Patti); and three step-children, Shelly Warton, and Jeff (May) and John Patrick McClain. Additionally, he had five grandchildren, Matthew, Justin, Tyler, and Braden Wharton, and Andrea McClain; one great-granddaughter, Amelia Grace Higgins; several nieces and nephews; and a very special companion, his dog, Riley.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by six sisters.

In keeping with Fred’s final wishes, he will be cremated, with a Celebration of Life being held at a later date. Lambert Tatman Funeral Homes and Crematory has been entrusted with his final wishes, and are honored to serve his family during this time.
