James Russell “Bear” Currey II, 75 of Little Hocking, Ohio went to his eternal home to be greeted by his family and friends January 9, 2018 at Camden Clark Medical Center. He was born September 22, 1942 in Grafton, WV a son of the late Russell James and Lula May Moore Currey. James was retired from the Laborer's Union where he was a 50 year member with Local 639 and a member of the People's Club in Coolville. Bear is survived by his four children, Lisa Currey of Parkersburg, Kelly Currey of Mineral Wells, Beth (David) Currey of Mineral Wells and James Russell Currey III of Little Hocking; eight grandchildren, Taz Mayle, Andrew Mayle, Kaylee Madison, Kendall Madison, Taylor Rhyne, Cody Dye, Connor Dye and Peyton Currey; three nephews, Shayne and Shawn Currey and Brian Birt; and the Jones family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wives, Judith Kragness and Barbara Ann Currey; and three brothers, infant Roland Currey, David Moore and Lonnie Currey. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, January 12, 2018 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg with Pastor Frank Miller officiating. Burial will follow at the Harmony Grove Cemetery in Grafton, WV. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The family wishes to thank the Oncology nurses and staff at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital for their special love and care given to Bear.
