Jacquin “Jackie” E. Underwood, 83, passed away peacefully and entered her eternal home with her Heavenly Father on December 3, 2025, at WVU Camden Clark Medical Center. She was born on December 16, 1941, in Doddridge County, West Virginia, and was the daughter of Aubra Carpenter and Wavelene Grace (Hill) Carpenter Williams.
During her lifetime, Jackie excelled in many athletic pursuits including basketball and tennis. Throughout her life, she enjoyed watching sports and attending her son’s sports activities. Jackie worked at Camden Clark Memorial Hospital for many years in the café and as a patient transporter. Her friendly and outgoing personality brought joy and compassion to the many people she encountered daily.
Jackie was preceded in death by her parents and her stepfather, Sam Williams; her brothers, Dean Carpenter, Larry Carpenter, and Butch Carpenter (Veda); her sister Susan Ash; her brother-in-law, Robert Miller; and the father of her sons, David Underwood.
Those left behind to carry on her memory are her siblings, Rich (Ruby) Carpenter, Mary Lou Miller, and Gayanne (Gary) Crislip; two sisters-in-law, Janice Carpenter and Linda Carpenter; sons, Daniel (Regina) Underwood, Keith (Lil) Underwood, Rich (Susan) Underwood, and Butch (Tanya) Underwood; her grandchildren, Stacy (Chuck) McCrady, Wendy (Brooks) Simonton, Kayla (Matthew) Lucas, Travis (Brooke) Barton, Ashley Underwood, Amber (Kurt) Busiek, Kayla (Dave) Lowe, Julie (Anthony) Yeager, and Dean Underwood; and many great-grandchildren.
Memorial Services will be 4:00 p.m., Monday, December 8, 2025 at Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St. South Parkersburg, with Pastor Mike Lamb officiating. Visitation will be from 3 – 4 p.m., on Monday at the Funeral Home.
