Jack Benton Berry, 78 of Bartlett, Ohio went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 7, 2016. Jack was born in Little Hocking, Ohio on March 22, 1937 to Daniel O. Berry and Anna Pearl Bennett Berry. He graduated from Belpre High School in 1954 and received an honorary Doctorate of Divinity degree in 2011 from Marietta Bible College. He married the love of his life, Genevieve Seckman, on August 31, 1962. Early in life Jack worked for Kaiser Aluminum as a Hydraulic Specialist, served his country in the United State Marine Corps and enjoyed great success buying and selling real estate through the years. But the true passion of Jack’s heart was to lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. For forty years he poured out his life in full time ministry to several congregations in Ohio and West Virginia. Jack served as lay pastor to Decatur Chapel Church in Little Hocking, OH, as Associate Pastor at Marietta Bible Center, Marietta, OH, lead Pastor at Grace Gospel Church, Ripley, W.Va., and for the last 25 years at Bartlett Bible Church, Bartlett, OH. Jack is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Genevieve Berry, of Bartlett, OH; his two children, Wayne Berry of Bartlett, OH and Elaine Berry Mayson (Scott) of Fayetteville, GA; his four grandchildren; Jeremy Hicks, of Ripley, W.Va.; Easton Berry of Ripley; Ansley Mayson and Sydney Mayson of Fayetteville, GA; his two sisters, Irma Hanger of Vincent, OH and Joan Knowles of Marietta, OH. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his brothers, John and Daniel Berry; and his sisters, Harriett Berry, Donna Burns and Aileen Rector. The funeral service will be 12:00 p.m. Friday, March 11, 2016 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 1305 Washington Blvd. Belpre, OH with Pastor Myron Guiler officiating. Burial will be at Bartlett Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and for one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. “But faith looks up in hope and rejoices at the blessed end of one whose crowning glory it was to have served the Lord Jesus.”
