Isaac Daniel Read

March 7, 1981 — December 6, 2015

Isaac Daniel Read, 34, passed from this life on Dec. 6, 2015, at Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg, W.Va. Isaac was born on March 7, 1981, in Parkersburg, W.Va, the son of Charlie and Peggy Read of Davisville, W.Va. He was a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and was saved by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8,9). Isaac was incredibly talented in so many ways, and was a gifted musician. Although he played different instruments, he particularly enjoyed drums. He played drums on several of his father's CD recordings from 1994 to the present. He enjoyed the outdoors, camping and hiking. He loved watching college and pro football, and his favorite teams were the Mountaineers and Pittsburgh Steelers. Isaac is preceded in death by a younger brother, Nathan, and at this moment they are rejoicing together at their heavenly reunion. He is also preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Harold and Joan Read; and his maternal grandparents, Gilbert and Rose Atkinson. In addition to his parents, Isaac is survived by his brothers, Matthew (Jessica) Read of Parkersburg, Aaron (Carrie) Read of Parkersburg, Joshua (Lindsey) Read of Davisville, W.Va.; and Andrew Read, Adam Read and Daniel Read, all of Davisville. He also leaves behind seven loving nieces and nephews, Mackenzie, Luke, Abby, Jack, Mariah, Melody and Natalie Read, all of Parkersburg; and many cousins, aunts and uncles. All who have known Isaac will remember him as a man who would light up the room with his big smile, humor and loving personality. Many friends and relatives will always picture his friendly smile and bear hugs. The name “Isaac” means “laughter,” and he certainly lived up to that characteristic. He could have his family and friends in stitches with his impersonations and spontaneous humor. Isaac was a blessing to his family and to anyone who needed a helping hand. His mother will always remember Isaac's contributions to the home, and his pride in doing a good job even in things like mowing the lawn a certain way, or bringing in river rocks to help decorate around the house. His family is so thankful to God that in these last few years, Isaac knew nothing but love and support from his parents and brothers, who delighted in doing special things for him because of his genuine appreciation. “Don't think of him as gone away – his journey's just begun; Life holds so many facets, this earth is only one. Just think of him as resting from the sorrows and the tears In a place of warmth and comfort where there are no days and years. Think how he must be wishing that we could know today How nothing but our sadness can really pass away. And think of him as living in the hearts of those he touched… For nothing loved is ever lost – and he was loved so much.” There will be a memorial service at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 10, at Life Church, Parkersburg, with Pastor Pasi Sikio officiating.
