Irene Winifred Wigal Cress

Irene W. Wigal Cress, 96, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away on Feb. 20, 2014, at The Willows Center.She was born February 27, 1917, in Wood Co., W.Va., a daughter of the late Roscoe and Myrtle Davis Lamb.Irene was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith.She is survived by her stepsons, Carl Wigal and his wife, Carrie of Newport, Ohio, David, John and Robert Cress; her step-daughter, Jane Edgar; four grandchildren, Ava James, Carla Sartor, Teresa Gessel and Nancy Burchard; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great- grandchildren.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Lewis Wigal; her second husband, William Cress; two brothers; and five sisters.Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014 at Sunset Memory Gardens with Pastor Sam Crawford and Pastor Roger Benson officiating.Family and Friends may gather at Grace Gospel Church in Pettyville, W.Va. from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Saturday.
