Ilene Louell Echols

Ilene Louell Echols, 69, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away April 29, 2014 at her residence.She was born November 9, 1944, in Chloe, W.Va., Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Harley and Minnie May Hicks.She was retired from the Wood County Senior Citizens Center. She enjoyed drawing, reading, walking, playing cards and games.She is survived by her husband of 47 years, John Echols; one son, John D. Echols Jr. (Debra Blanks and her children, Dougie, Emily and Maria) of Parkersburg, W.Va.; one daughter, Minnie Joy (Dana “Butch”) of Rockport, W.Va.; five siblings, Rosie Wolfe, Wilma Sams (Ralph) and Joy Marquis, all of Parkersburg, W.Va., Creed Hicks of Belpre, Ohio, and Delbert Hicks of Marietta, Ohio.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Bonnie Lucas (Paul) and Donnie Arthur; sister-in-law, Elaine Hicks; and brother-in-law, Joe Marquis.Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Jim Lynch officiating. Interment will follow at the Hicks Cemetery in Chloe, W.Va.Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
