Herman A. Tornes 87 of Vienna passed away Monday January 17, 2011 at St. Joseph's Hospital.He was born August 15, 1923 at Marietta, Ohio a son of the late Joseph and Christine Lorey Tornes.He was retired from Kaiser Aluminum and formerly owned and operated a dairy farm in Marietta. He was a member of the Steel Workers Organization of Active Retirees Local 5668. He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Vienna and the church Mens Organization. He also served in the US Army in the WWII European and Pacific Theaters. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Myra L. Cline Tornes. Two daughters; Vickie (Tim) Hare of Vienna, and Linda Tornes of Vienna. One grandson; Christopher Hare currently enrolled at the Art Institute of Charlotte, N.C.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one sister Marie Caldwell and three brothers Harold, Edwin, and Clarence Tornes.Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 A.M. Friday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Vienna with Father Steve Joseph officiating.Burial will be at Mt Carmel Cemetery in Parkersburg with full military honors by American Legion Post #15 of Parkersburg. Visitation will be from 3:00-7:00 P.M. Thursday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home of Vienna with Rosary Service at 7:00 P.M. Thursday.
