Henry “Hank” Clay Nesbitt, Jr., 95, went home to be with Lord on Feb. 22, 2013, while residing at Lakeview Estates in Parkersburg, W.Va.He was born in Parkersburg, on January 9, 1918, the firstborn son of the late Beatrice Eugenia Gilbert Nesbitt Boyd and the late Henry Clay Nesbitt, Sr.When he was eight years old, he moved to New Martinsville, W.Va., graduating from Magnolia High School in 1936.He met the love of his life, Ruth Ellen Robey, at Mountain State Business College.They were married on March 21, 1942.During World War II he served as an officer in the Army Air Corps, stationed at a base near London, England.While stationed there, he attended the last performance of Glenn Miller before Mr. Miller was lost over the English Channel.Upon his return to the states, he attended and graduated from George Washington University where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity.Upon graduation he went to work for Dupont at their Washington Works plant.He spent his entire career there, retiring in 1978.He was an avid Bridge player who directed Duplicate Bridge for many years at Worthington Golf Club, achieving the rank of Lifetime Master of Duplicate Bridge.His other lifetime passion was ballroom dancing.He founded two dance clubs in the Parkersburg area and was active in many others.He is survived by two daughters, Rhonda Nesbitt Mohan of Huntington Station, N.Y. and Judith Nesbitt Province of Rock Hill, S.C.; four grandchildren, Elizabeth Jones, Nicholas Province, Whitney Province Carson and David Jones; three great-granddaughters; and his devoted companion, Mildred Jacqueline Clepper.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ellen Robey Nesbitt; his step-father, James O. Boyd; his three brothers, Joseph, Eugene and James; and an infant son.The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 25, at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Market St., Parkersburg, with Father Neil Buchlein as Celebrant.Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery with full military rites by American Legion Post 15, Parkersburg.Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with Recitation of the Rosary at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Green St., Parkersburg.
