Hazel M. George Cox, 87 of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away July 17, 2016 at Camden Clark Medical Center in Parkersburg. She was born June 5, 1929 in Wirt County, W.Va. the daughter of the late Alvie and Icie Cottrell George. Hazel was a retired owner/operator of the SnowFlake Restaurant. She was a Baptist by faith. She is survived by her daughters, Betty Watson (Ron) of Parkersburg, Debra Burdette (Dale) of Parkersburg and Doris Breedlove (George) of Davisville, W.Va.; son, Stephen Cox (Leslie) of Mineral Wells W.Va.; sister, Roberta Dye of Palestine, W.Va.; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Arlis W. Cox; son, Bill Cox; and brother, Paul George. Services for Hazel will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike Street, Parkersburg, W.Va., with Virgil Beall officiating. Burial will follow at Bogg’s Cemetery, Roane County, W.Va. Visitation will be Tuesday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Wednesday. The family would like to thank the staff in ICU including Dr. Khalil and Hospice for their excellent care and also Ohio Valley Health Care for the last six years.
