Hazel E. Cooper, 84, of Parkersburg, passed away on Monday, Jan. 3, 2011 at Worthington Manor after a long illness.She had lived life as a lady of elegance, compassion, kindness and grace.She was born in Parkersburg, the daughter of the late Arthur and Nellie Stanley.Mrs. Cooper had been employed and retired from the U.S. Treasury Public Debt. She is survived by one son, James A. Cooper of Parkersburg; grand-daughter's Tammy Lynn Cooper and her daughter, Abigail Cooper, and granddaughter, Stacy Ann Cooper; her daughter-in-law, Vickie K. Cooper, all of El Paso, Tex.; two sisters, Betty Buskirk of Vienna and Ilene (Tom) Morris of Port Charlotte, Fla; and one brother, Richard Stanley of Melbourne, Fla.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Cooper; son, Clifton D. Cooper; two sisters, Beatrice Knaus and Mary Buskirk; and three brothers, Delbert, Ken and Dale Stanley.The family wishes to thank her neighbors of Lake Hills Drive, Parkersburg for their well wishes and support over many years and also her caregivers at Worthington Manor for their kindness and personal care in her final days.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 8, at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Pike St., south Parkersburg with David Newberry officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen South Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 7, at the funeral home.
