Harriett Joan Mason

Joan graduated from Parkersburg High School and attended WVUP. She retired as an Orthopedic Secretary for Dr. Anthony Twite. She worked for record information services (R.I.S.). She was active in boy and girl scout leadership and received the Scouters Wife Award for her dedicated service. She was a long-time member of First United Methodist Church in Parkersburg. Joan was a member of the Worthington Women’s Golf Association and volunteered at Camden Clark with the Ladies Auxillary.
Joan is survived by two sons, Jonathan L. Mason of Pinellas Park, FL and Craig Bennett Mason (Letha) of Washington, WV; a daughter-in-law, Linda Mason of FL; grandchildren, Thomas Mason, Rebecca “Becca” Mason, Jonathan Brett Mason, and Mathew Mason; great-grandchildren, Sydney, Shea, Erick, Kaylee, Jonathan, Madalyn, and Hunter Mason; and one great-great granddaughter, Carolina Rose Olmsted.
In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Jude Mason of 56 years; her son, Michael Edwin Mason; great-grandaughter, Shelby Russell; two sisters, Eleanor Meeks and Helen Ruth Strimer Nelson; two brothers, John W. and Edwin P. Guinn; her step-mother, Nell Bryan Guinn; special friend, Keith Litton; and her precious dog, Molly.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, April 23, 2024 11:00 AM at The First United Methodist Church in Parkersburg with Pastor Alicia Randolph-Rapking. Burial will be in Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 PM Monday, April 22, 2024 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Green St. Parkersburg, and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Parkersburg Humane Society.
