Harold Eugene Burdette

Harold Eugene “Gene” Burdette, 71, of Mineral Wells, W.Va., passed away on Jan. 18, 2015 at Camden Clark Medical Center.He was born Dec. 4, 1943, in Parkersburg, a son of the late Okey Lee and Bertha Kathleen Anderson Burdette.Gene was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he was a member of the 82nd Airborne Para-trooper. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling and playing poker. He was a member of the American Legion Post #15.He is survived by five children, Anita (Mike) Lambert, Mike (Sandy) Burdette, Andi Hesman, Scott (Teresa) Burdette, and Casey Burdette; his brother and sisters, Richard Burdette, Bobbie Ann McKinney, and Carolyn Sue Parker; 17 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews including a special nephew, Terry Anderson.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2015 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home,2333Pike St., south Parkersburg with Pastor David Stilgenbauer officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 until time of services on Wednesday at the funeral home.The family would like to thank a special nurse at Camden Clark Medical Center, Gretchan, for her special care of Gene.Donations may be made to American Legion Post #15 Parkersburg.
