Glenna Ilene Gates

Glenna Ilean Shafer Gates 67, of Vienna, W.Va. passed away January 21, 2016 with her family by her side in Marietta, Ohio. She was born June 30, 1948 in Parkersburg, W.Va., the daughter of Waneda Shafer and the late Glenn Shafer. Glenna received joy in life from gathering her family together during the holidays. She showed her love through opening her home and providing home cooked meals. Her smile could lighten up a room. Glenna loved her church family and attended Grand Central Church of Christ for almost 60 years. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her devoted husband, Don Gates; daughter, Kimberly Lambert; brothers, Roy (wife Debbie) and Brian (wife Karen); also many nieces, nephews and loving stepchildren. A memorial service will be held at the church building of Grand Central Church of Christ at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2016.
