Glenn L. Lamp, 85, of Belpre, a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend entered into heaven early Tuesday morning, Jan. 18, 2011 surrounded by his loving family.He was born Aug. 22, 1925 in Parkersburg, W.Va., the only child of Arcie and Jessie Jackson Lamp.Glenn served in the U.S. Air Force from 1943 – 1948 flying missions over Germany.He retired from Elkem in 1987 after 36 years of service.Glenn was a member of the Belpre Church of Christ where he served as an Elder from 1970 until 1993.Glenn is survived by his wife, Joan Hays Lamp, whom he married on June 3, 1951 and by their six children, Patty (Chuck) Hinzman, John (Karen) Lamp, Mike (Brandon Allen) Lamp, Melinda (Steve) Roberts, Kelli (Jon) Adelsperger, and Jodi (Rick Walker) Lamp; and his ten grandchildren, Heather Hinzman, Erica (Chuck) Lipscomb, Emily Lamp, Eliot Hinzman, Elissa Lamp, Corey Roberts, Wyatt Adelsperger, Webb Adelsperger, Jayda Allen and Brandon Allen.He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Jerry Page and Jean Wiggins; two nieces and nephews; and his cat, Boots.In addition to his parents, Glenn was preceded in death by a grandson, Seth Roberts.Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, Jan. 21, 2011 at the Belpre Church of Christ, 2932 Washington Boulevardwith Evangelist Ronald D. Laughery officiating.Services will conclude with interment at Evergreen Cemetery, Belpre. The family will receive friends from 4 – 8 p.m. Thursday at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 1305 Washington Boulevard, Belpre.
