Glenn “Pap” M. Alleman Jr., 86, of Walker, W.Va., passed away August 31, 2011, at The Heritage House at St. Marys. He was born June 26, 1925, in Steubenville, Ohio.Glenn retired after several years of service in Security at West Virginia University at Parkersburg. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed coaching little league baseball. He was a U.S. Army veteran having served in WWII. Surviving is his daughter, Cher'e VanNoy of Flint, Michigan; son, Glen N. Alleman (Lynn) of Walker, W.Va.; brother-in-law, Don Cross (Nancy) of Parkersburg, W.Va.; seven grandchildren, Daniel, Adam (Katrina), Priya (Tim), Cassie, Zach, Jessica (Scott), and Amber (Carl); nine great-grandchildren, Mia, Aubrey, Jacob, Jillian, Timmy, Joe, Shawntel, Brayden, and Shalini. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Genevieve Cross Alleman on June 11, 2010; and one son, Jeffrey Alleman. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday Sept. 3, 2011 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Glenn's grandson, Adam VanNoy, officiating. Full military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post 15 of Parkersburg. Interment will follow at the Shiloh Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Following graveside services on Saturday, everyone is invited for food and fellowship at the Lambert-Tatman Family Center.
