Gladys Irene Bell

Gladys Irene Bell, 92 of Walker, W.Va. went home to be with the Lord April 2, 2016. She was born December 3, 1923 in Wood County, W.Va., a daughter of the late Arlington and Katie E. Wilson Smith. Gladys was a member of Faith Gospel Church in Parkersburg. She was a loving wife to her husband, James A. Bell and a great Mom to her six children and grandchildren. She loved cooking and sewing. She will be greatly missed. Surviving is a brother, Leroy (Betty) Smith of Tucson, AZ; six children, Michael (Bonnie) Bell, Sharon (Kenny) Welch, Sally (Dale) Deuley all of Walker, Wanda Springer and Beverley LeMaster of Parkersburg, and James (Jim) Bell of Waverly, W.Va.; 14 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James A. Bell; a granddaughter, Denise Deuley; one brother, Raymond Smith; four sisters, Dorothy Joy, Dolly Weaver, Carrie Brooks and Nellie Harris; a daughter-in-law, Judy Bell and several nieces and nephews. The family would a like to say a special thank you to Ohio Valley Health Care for the love and care they all gave Mom. What a great family. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St. Parkersburg with Pastor Jason Poling officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Parkersburg. Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
