Geraldine “Gerry” Gibson, 83, of Belpre, took her flight to Heaven on June 25, 2010, at Harmar Place in Marietta.She was born Dec. 1, 1926, in Reedy, W.Va., a daughter of the late George L. and Susie George Boggs.She was a homemaker and a devoted mom, grandma and mamaw to her family. She was a charter member of From the Heart Church Ministry of Belpre and was known as the “Mother of the Church.”She is survived by one son, James Gibson and wife, Mindy, of Belpre; two daughters, Barbara Holcomb and husband, Don “Jr”, of Belpre and Patricia Tanner and husband, David, of Williamstown; five grandchildren, David Holcomb and wife, Terri, of Charlotte, N.C., James Gibson Jr. and wife, Michelle, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Jennifer Woodruff and husband, Dwayne, of Hilliard, Ohio, Jeremy Tanner and Jason Tanner of Williamstown; four great-grandchildren, Madeline Woodruff, Noah Woodruff, Matthew Holcomb and Madison Grace Holcomb; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis D. Gibson; two sisters, Thelma Sims and Bernice Mercadante; and two brothers, Herschel and Walter Boggs.Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Belpre, with Pastor Ronald Lyles officiating. Services will conclude with burial in Parkersburg Memorial Gardens.
