Geraldine “Jerry” Ann Elliott, 83, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away Saturday, May 7, 2011, at the Arcadia Nursing Facility.She was born June 15, 1927, in Wood County, W.Va., a daughter of the late George W. and Mamie A. Pifer Smith.Jerry formerly attended Parkersburg High School and had retired from St. Joseph's Hospital after years of service at the J&J Grill as a cook. She had also been with the Lubeck Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary as a volunteer. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren and had been a longtime member of South Parkersburg and Lubeck Baptist Church.Surviving is one daughter, Lena Biles of Parkersburg, W.Va.; one son, Frank Elliott (Robin) of Braxton County, W.Va.; two grandsons, Michael Jenkins (Samantha) of Hampton, Va., and Kent Elliott (Erin) of Vienna, W.Va.; four great-grandchildren, Abby and Dakota Jenkins and Carson and Cailyn Elliott; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tracy Elliott, who passed away on Jan. 5, 1992; two sisters, Ernestine Hunt and Alta Buffington Huffman; two brothers, Roy and Chester Smith; and one son-in-law, Melvin Biles.Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green Street, Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Mark Houser officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen North Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.The family would like to thank Jerry's cousin and caregiver, Gene Smith, for the love and care Jerry received.
