Gerald I. “Jerry”Lavery, 81, of Vienna, W.Va. passed away at his residence on October 10, 2014.He was born in Evergreen Park, Illinois, on October 31,1932, a son of the late John and Helen Deschman Lavery.Gerald served in the Air Force for 21 years and was in the Korean Conflict. He worked for Public Debt for 21 years and was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Vienna.He is survived by his wife, Joan E. Elofson; one daughter, Brenda Stauffer (Don) of Vienna, W.Va.; one son, David Lavery and his partner, Ron of Wilmington, Delaware; two brothers, Robert Lavery of Niles, Illinois and John Lavery also of Illinois; one grandchild, Erin Listerman (Chris); and two great-grandchildren, Landyn and Brylee (who could always make him smile) Listerman.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Lavery.A memorial service for Gerald will be held on Sunday, October 12, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, W.Va. with Father Gallagher presiding. A visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
