Gerald Dean Dye 89, of Belpre, Ohio passed away Friday, April 17, 2015 at the Marietta Memorial Hospital.He was born July 30, 1925 in Akron, Ohio, a son of the late Harold and Caroline Clark Dye. Gerald was a U.S. Army Air Corp veteran having served during WWII. He was retired from Union Carbide after 37 years of service. Gerald was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Shiners', and the American Legion in Belpre. He enjoyed motorcycles, fishing and spending time with his family. Gerald is survived by his son, Gary Dye and wife, Melanie of Belpre; his brother, Donald Dye and wife, Virginia of Marietta; grandchildren, Marie Weltner of Parkersburg, Joshua, Jacob and Zachary Ridenour; great-grandchildren, Nevaeh and Abbigail Weltner, Lily Dennis, Lakin and Alana Ridenour; his buddy Shilo, his dog; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen O. Dye on January 29, 2010.Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 1305 Washington Blvd. Belpre, Ohio with Reverend Jeffery Atwater officiating. Interment will follow at the Rockland Cemetery, Belpre with full military rites by the American Legion Post 64. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday with evening Masonic Services to be held at the funeral home.
