Genevieve Ellen America, 89, of Parkersburg, WV went home to be with the Lord on July 4, 2026, in the Memory Care Unit at Eagle Pointe Nursing and Rehab.
She was born on July 16, 1936, on Indian Fork in Barbour County, WV. She was preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” America; her parents, Ernest and Ruth Lantz and seven brothers and sisters, Opal, Billy, Mary, Troy “Buddy”, Daryl, Geraldine and Roy “David”.
She is survived by her brother, Chuck Lantz. Her daughters, Terri Davis (Tim) of Parkersburg, WV and Brenda Ewanus (Donald) of Huntington, WV. Her three granddaughters, Amanda “Mandy” Duffy of Sebastion, FL, Kristen Ewanus of Huntington, WV and Jennifer Ewanus of Columbus, OH. Her four great-grandchildren, Aiden Duffy of Chatsworth, GA, Brayden Duffy of Orangeville, PA, Scottie Russell and Carmen Russell of Columbus, OH.
Graveside services will be held 2:30 pm Thursday, July 9, 2026, at the Parkersburg Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Jim Yoak officiating.
