Gene Edward Cooper, 82, of Mineral Wells, passed away August 17, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Mineral Wells on September 29, 1941, a son to the late Robert L. and Bertha V. Lemon Cooper.
He was a graduate from Parkersburg High School and then served honorably in the United States Army National Guard. He retired from E. I. Dupont after serving 37 years as a crane operator and mechanic. He is a member of the Grace Gospel Church of Parkersburg and a member of the Parkersburg A.F. and A. M. Lodge 169. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing.
Gene married the love of his life, Pamila “Pam” Fluharty Cooper. A true testament to love, they’ve celebrated 41 years of marriage together. In addition to his wife, his memory will be cherished by their children, Denise McLear (Rob) of Rock Hill, SC. and Richard Sneigle (Bobbi) of Mineral Wells; his sister, Carol Ann Martin (James); four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at 1:00 PM with visitation from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, south Parkersburg with Pastor Randy Dornon officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
