Gary Wayne Traugh

Gary Wayne Traugh, 69, a beloved father, papaw, respected business owner, and veteran of Parkersburg, WV passed away September 23, 2026, at his residence.

Son of the late Lois Jean and Howard Lee Traugh, Gary was born March 7, 1957, in Parkersburg, WV. He attended Parkersburg South High School and graduated in 1975.

After high school, Gary proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he learned the values of discipline and dedication that would later define his career. Following his military service, Gary returned to Parkersburg and embarked on several successful careers as a self-employed business owner and operator. He owned several stores and a restaurant, as well as his own gym "Gary's Boxing Gym" in Parkersburg. His love for boxing, Muhammed Ali, and with his own amatuer and professional boxing record as "Kompak Kid", he created an atmosphere of strength, dignity, and joy for his clients. He loved to collect antiques, historical artworks, Coca-Cola memorabilia, and boxing artifacts, of which he was very proud of. But his greatest pastime was spending time with his children and grandchildren, who were the light of his life.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving daughters and son, Chana Marie Astorg (Seve), Jade Traugh, and Cyrus Traugh; grandchildren, Christian Astorg, Sevana Astorg, Cassius Astorg, Rylee Astorg, and Konstantinos "Tino" Pantelidis.

Gary will be remembered for his unwavering dedication to his family, his friends, and his community. His warm smile, generous spirit, and steadfast character will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A Memorial Service will take place Wednesday, September 30, 2026 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home on Pike St, beginning at 5:00 PM. A visitation will begin at 3:00 PM until time of service.
