Gary Lynn Shaffer

Gary Lynn Shaffer, 54, of Parkersburg, W.Va., passed away on June 5, 2014 at his residence after a long battle with cancer.He was born July 5, 1959, in Charleston, a son of the late Joe S. and Imogene Henry Shaffer.Gary had worked as a self-employed contractor.He loved hunting, cutting firewood, mechanical work, building construction and being outdoors.He is survived by one daughter, Stacey Shaffer of Ohio; one son, Justin Shaffer of Parkersburg; five sisters, Carol Coe of Mineral Wells, W.Va., Barbara Means and Kathy Shaffer, both of Charleston, W.Va., Jo Ellen Shaffer of Cutler, Ohio, Julie Moles of Lake Wales, Fla.; three brothers, Billy Shaffer of Georgia, David Shaffer of South Carolina, and his twin brother, Larry Shaffer of Parkersburg; four grandchildren, Gavin, Dylan, Layla, and Ethan Shaffer; and his little buddy, nephew, Willie Moles.Memorial services will be held at the convenience of the family.Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home and Cremation Services will be assisting the family with arrangements.The family requests that donations be made to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
