Gary L. Riel

Gary L.”Speedy” Riel, 50, of Parkersburg, passed away from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on April 23, 2017. He was born November 10, 1966, in Parkersburg, a son of the late Paul and Shirley Savley Riel. Gary worked at Constellium in the Maintenance Department with over twenty years of service. He was a member of the Local Steel Workers #5668 and also a member of the Parkersburg Moose Lodge. Gary enjoyed riding his Harley with his brother, Paul “Deter”. He also loved fishing and boating with his family. He is survived by his wife of twenty one years, Donnetta Tibbs Riel; his three daughters, Stormy Tibbs and Halley Riel of Parkersburg and Kiala Riel of Columbus, OH.; his two sons, Jacob Riel and Gary Riel both of Parkersburg; one sister, Sherrie Bell of Parkersburg; three brothers, Paul “Deter” Riel Jr., Brian Riel and David Riel all of Parkersburg. In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his father in-law, Thomas Tibbs. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg with Jim Lynch officiating. Interment will follow at the Parkersburg Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
