Gary Francis Bell

Gary Francis Bell 82, of Vienna, W.Va., passed away at home March 18, 2017, after a short battle with cancer. He was born July 3, 1934, son of the late William H. Bell, Sr. and Virginia Danforth Bell. After serving four years in the U.S. Navy, he worked at Corning Glass for five years and then went to work at Marbon and retired from G.E. Plastics after 32 years. A lot of people remember him from the Cavalier Skating rink where he was a skate boy while in his teens. Later on he played roller hockey for the Flying Aces. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judy Metz Bell. He is also survived by his children, Mike Bell (Ann Marie) of Parkersburg, W.Va., Steve Bell of Vienna, Linda Collins (Ron) of Mineral Wells, W.Va. and Terri Suzen Bell of Parkersburg; grandchildren, Susan Bell, Michael Bell, Andrea Collins and Jennifer Collins; and great-grandson, Jay. Also surviving are two sisters, Pat Peterman of Vienna and Gay Metz (Clarence) of Parkersburg; two sisters-in-law, Pauline Bell and Pat Bell; and a brother-in-law, Frank Metz (Patty). He was preceded in death by brothers, Bill Jr., Charles “Bud”, George, Bob, Don, and Jennings Bell and an infant brother; sister, Rosemary Rhodes; and a special brother-in-law, Ken Peterman. Visitation will be Monday, March 20th from 2 p.m. till 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. till 8 p.m. at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Vienna. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 21 with Rev. John Vannoy officiating. Burial will follow at the Parkersburg Memorial Gardens.
