Garnet Ellen Staats

Garnet Ellen Hanna Staats 85, of Boaz, W.Va. passed away June 4, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born October 8, 1930 in Wood County, W.Va., the daughter of the late Ralph E. and C. Nella Conger Hanna. Garnet was a licensed beautician and owned and operated the Butterfly Beauty Shop for over 20 year. She enjoyed knitting, needlework, painting, and playing the piano. Up until her latter years, she was very active in the Boaz Homemakers Club. She is survived by two sons, Gerald W. Staats (Corrine) of Boaz, W.Va. and Joseph M. Staats of Casa Grande, AZ; three grandchildren, Benjamin W. Staats (Crystal), Daniel Staats (Kelly) and Jo Ann Copen (William); great-grandchildren, Janet, Grace, Hazel, Mekaela and Kayleen and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Wade Staats on May 31, 2016; and two brothers, Everett and Howard Hanna. Joint funeral services for Garnet and her husband, Wade, will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave. Vienna, W.Va. with Pastor Don Yeager officiating. Burial will follow the service at Evergreen North Cemetery, Parkersburg, W.Va. Visitation will be Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
