Gale Catherine Rogers

Gale Catherine Rogers, 70 of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away Feb. 1, 2015 at Camden Clark Medical Center. She was born Sept. 16, 1944 in Bellaire, Ohio, a daughter of the late Holmes Gale and Mary T. Law. She was a 1962 graduate of Weirton High School and attended PCC and Wheeling Jesuit. She helped start the Tyler County Community Action and worked for the DHHR in Tyler County. She worked at Care Haven in Pleasants County as a social worker and admissions director, retiring after 20 years of service. Gale enjoyed quilting, reading Amish books, visiting Amish country, and loved ice cream. She especially enjoyed cooking for and spending time with her family, spoiling her grandson and helping others. Gale loved her dog, Pugs.Gale is survived by a daughter, Mary C. Rogers Jeffreys of Parkersburg; a grandson, Channing A. Jeffreys; two sisters, Virginia Price and Elva Jones both of Weirton, W.Va.; close friends, Linda Knotts of Deland, FL and Jennifer Bosley of Elkins, W.Va.; former husband and friend, Benjamin Rogers; and several nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ralph Law; and a close friend, Charlene Butler.Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 6, 2015 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg, W.Va. with Rev. Richard Thomas officiating. Visitation will be noon to 1:30 Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Bell-Grant Hill Cemetery at the convenience of the family.The family requests that donations be made in memory of Gale to the Parkersburg Humane Society.
