Freddie L. Fields, 85, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at his residence. He was born August 28, 1931, in Roane County, WV, a son of the late Ralph and Dola Carpenter Fields. Freddie worked for the Department of Agriculture as a Soil Conservationist. He enjoyed wood working, was a master craftsman, and also enjoyed working on cars. Freddie was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He is survived by his wife, Alsie Fields; his daughter, Linda Fields of Parkersburg; a son, Paul Fields (Colleen) of Morgantown, WV; two grandchildren, Jonathan Fields of Oklahoma City, OK and Elizabeth Jackson of Summerville, SC.; and three great-grandchildren, Amari, Alijah and Ariana Jackson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Clarence Fields; and one sister, Frances Alvis. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg with Reverend James Plyburn officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery in Williamstown, WV; Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
