Franklin E. Sandy

Franklin E. Sandy, 86, of Spencer, WV, passed away on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Roane General Hospital. He was born June 27, 1932, in Calhoun County, WV, a son of the late Charles and Thelma Murphy Sandy. Franklin was a U.S. Army Veteran. He enjoyed fishing, the outdoors and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Florence L. Lockhart Sandy; his four daughters, Eula Honaker (Dwight) of Parkersburg, Molly Sandy (Jean James) of Reno, OH, Stella Oldham (Tony) of Grantsville, WV and Cathy Sandy (Ron) of Spencer, WV; his son, Glen Sandy (Melody) of Coolville, OH; thirteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, Franklin was preceded in death by one son, Franklin Sandy; one daughter, Edna Wilson; one brother, Edgar Sandy; and one sister, Geneva Parsons. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St, south Parkersburg with Pastor Brady Stephen’s officiating and full military rites by the American Legion Post 15. Burial will follow at Rector Cemetery, Burning Springs, WV. Visitation will be from 11 am till time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
