Francis Xavier Nelson

Francis Xavier Nelson, 90, of Vienna, WV passed away peacefully at his residence Wednesday, October 16, 2024.

A son of the late Jack and Mary Ethel (O’Mealey) Nelson, Francis was born June 21, 1934, in Parkersburg, WV. He worked for 43 years at B F Goodrich until he retired. He was a devoted member of St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Vienna, as well as a member of the Pioneer Auto Club.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 8 siblings.

He is survived by his loving wife, Shirlee Ann Nelson of Vienna, WV; son, Michael Nelson (Laura) of St. Marys, WV and daughter, Julie Ferguson (Gary) of The Villages, FL; grandchildren, Bridget Judy, Brenton Nelson, JoAnn Allen, Hannah Knight, and Brooke Knight; three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held Monday, October 21, 2024, beginning at 11:00 AM at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Vienna, WV with Rev. John Gallagher officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
