Frances (Fran) Keeper Gainer passed away May 31, 2015 at Wyngate Senior Living Community.Fran was born and raised in Vienna, W.Va., a daughter of the late Rev. Raymond C. and Sylvia Bond Keeper. She was a graduate of PHS and was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.Fran traveled extensively with her husband, Marvin, living in six different states during their marriage of 73 years. As a self taught organist, she entertained in several area restaurants, dining rooms, private dinners and parties. While living in Florida she was organist at the Waterfront Restaurant at Bahia Beach Resort in Ruskin, Fl. Fran taught organ and piano at the former Vienna Music Co. in Grand Central Mall and a private studio in her home.In earlier years, Fran was employed as deputy clerk in the offices of Vienna Mayor J. Bert Dixon and L.C. White, Wood County Clerk. During the time her husband, Marv, was in the service, she was employed by the U.S. Navy on Johnstown Island at Newport, RI and the Atlantic Monthly publishing company in Boston, Mass. She later was a Vienna and Belpre correspondent with James H. Young, editor of the Parkersburg News and for Brad Kincaid, sports editor at the Parkersburg Sentinel.Preceding her in death in addition to her parents is a brother, Charles R. Keeper (Mountaineer enthusiast and also known as (Santa Claus); and sister, Carolyn Mittan.She is survived by her husband, Marvin Gainer; one son, M. Jeffrey Gainer (Hannah); two grandsons, J. Scott Gainer (Dunia) of Parkersburg and Christopher Gainer (Lori) of Reynoldsburg, OH; one step-granddaughter, Stephani Williams; two great-grandchildren, Kiernan Gainer and Autumn Gainer; two step-great-grandchildren, Megan Williams andDominic Hall; and two great-great-granddaughters, Danicka Hall and Emmauin Sams.Friends are invited to visit with the family at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 497 21st St. Vienna, Friday, June 5, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 7:30 p.m. at the church with Rev. Daniel Bryon officiating. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the church.
