Forrest Dewayne Mcnemar

March 14, 1928 — December 16, 2019

Forrest D. McNemar, 91, of Vienna, passed away December 16, 2019, at Carehaven of Pleasants County. He was born March 14, 1928 in Copen, Braxton County, WV, the son of the late Harvey Lewis McNemar and Ruby Elizabeth (Nicholson) McNemar. Forrest served in the Army in Korea and received a Purple Heart, later he was a chemical operator at Union Carbide (Elkem Metals). Early in his adult life he was a Deacon, taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. He was a Baptist by faith. Forrest was an avid golfer, loved to paint, was always busy with carpentry and liked making things with his hands. His family was his greatest joy. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Mildred Lorraine (Conrad) McNemar; one daughter, Kathryn (Thomas) Hays of Vienna; four sons, Donald V. (Martha) McNemar of Lawrenceville, GA, Paul L. (Susan) McNemar of Parkersburg, Robert D. (Sherry) McNemar of New Martinsville, WV and David L. McNemar of Parkersburg; two sisters, Veda Cottrill and Margie Beam; one brother, Ray McNemar; grandchildren, Ian, Allison, Kelsey, Angela, Justin, Amberley, Stacy, Chris, Julius, Jake, Zac, Levi, Davy and Gunnar; eleven great-grandchildren and one fur baby, Max. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary McNemar. Funeral services for Forrest will be held at 1:00 P.M., Friday, December 20, 2019 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, Vienna, with Pastor Bill Brown officiating. Burial will follow the service at Sunset Memory Gardens, where military graveside rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #15. Visitation will be from 11:00 until time of the service at 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
