Floretta Rebecca Long

January 29, 1942 — January 2, 2023

Floretta “Granny” Long, 80, of Washington, WV passed away Monday, January 2, 2023 at Ohio Valley Health Care. She was born January 29, 1942 in Olive Hill, Kentucky. A daughter of the late Clyde Flannery and Eva Collins Flannery.
Floretta was a graduate of Parkersburg High School, and she was a homemaker. She loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and enjoyed working in her yard. She was also a member of the Catholic Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Kim Meredith (Mark) of Parkersburg, WV, Libby Long (Chris) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Quinn Shibayama, Zachary and Megan Meredith; one brother, Donald Flannery (Alesha); and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Floretta is preceded in death by her loving husband, Charles J. Long; three brothers and two sisters.
A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, January 7, 2023 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 532 Market St, Parkersburg, WV 26101 with Father John Rice as celebrant. Inurnment of cremains will follow at Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donation to charity of your choice or Patient Advocate Foundation at patientadvocate.org.
