Flora Marie Swiger

Flora Marie Swiger (Cis), 62, of Parkersburg, WV, went peacefully to be with the Lord on December 22, 2019, with family, friends and Pastor by her side. She was born in Clarksburg, WV. A daughter of the late David Lee Swiger and mother Katherine “Marie” Swiger, of Cunningham Run, WV, whom she loved dearly. Cis was a bartender and home keeper. She loved camping at the river, music (singing) and being with family and friends; especially her mom, girls and grandchildren. She wrote poetry, made hemp jewelry and was an avid Harley Davidson lover. She collected turquoise jewelry and Owls. Some may know her as Spandex. She was preceded in death by her father David L. Swiger, of Shinnston, WV, lifetime partner Jim Rector, of Parkersburg, WV. Nephew, Gordon W. Swiger, of Shinnston, WV. Best friends Anita (Squeak) Bell Reed, of Ritchie County, WV and Teresa Dugan, of Parkersburg, WV. She is Survived by her three daughters Melissa Johnson, of Shinnston, WV, Jessica Rector, of Parkersburg, WV, and Janifer Stukey (Justin), of Parkersburg, WV. Five Stepdaughters Regina Smith, Paula Winans, Linda Vanscoy, Sherry Rector and Jamie McIntyre, of Harrison County, WV. Her boy Seth Elam, of Parkersburg, WV. Five grandchildren who was her heartbeat and reason for life Kaycie Britton, Indica Riel, Elijah McCune, Willow Littleton and Luna Jane, all of Parkersburg, WV. One Step granddaughter Olivia Moyers, Hurricane, WV. Three brothers David E. Swiger, Cunningham Run, WV, Jeffrey Swiger, Shinnston, WV and Eric Swiger (Heather), Shinnston, WV. Her best friends Alicia Healy and Sue Snyder, of Harrison County, WV and Valerie Saunders and Dana Dalton, of Wood County, WV. Along with many cousins, nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be at 2:00 pm Saturday January 4th at Cross Church (1122 Market St, Parkersburg, WV) with David Bounds officiating. Flowers can be sent January 4th to Cross Church between 10am-1:30pm. A memorial dinner will be in her hometown of Shinnston, WV Sunday January 5th (Jewel City Church) at 2:30pm.
