Evelyn ” Kay” Monroe, 65, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio with love ones at her bedside. She was born August 21, 1951 in Wood County, W.Va., the youngest daughter of the late Stanley J. Bennett Jr. and Evelyn Grace Muskgrave Bennett. Kay was a 1969 graduate of Parkersburg High School. She and her husband, Tommie, were owner/operator of Noddin Acres in Stockport, Ohio for over 27 years. Kay was an avid horse and dog lover and enjoyed her special companion, her dog Buster. She also enjoyed gardening and home canning. Kay will be remembered as a very loving, honest, accepting and non judgmental woman. Kay is survived by her husband of 45 years, Tommie Monroe; her two sisters, Cheryl Lazevnick (Jim) and Barbara Hissom, both of North Carolina; a sister-in-law, Nancy Lamp (John) of Parkersburg; a brother-in-law, Edward Monroe Jr. (Penny) of Gillette, WY; and two nieces and one nephew, Andrea Lazevnick Bentz, Brad Lazevnick and Lori Hissom, all of North Carolina. A gathering of family and friends, with a covered dish dinner, will be Saturday, October 1, 2016 from 12-4 P.M. at the Summit Valley United Methodist Church community building to celebrate Kay's life as she requested.
