Evelyn Burdette

Evelyn Burdette, 89 of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away Oct. 22, 2015 at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born Oct. 1, 1926 in Rockport, W.Va. daughter of the late Edgar and Sylvia Hardesty Karr. She was a graduate of Parkersburg High School, co-owner of Burdette Sales, and a member of First Baptist Church in Parkersburg. She loved reading and going for walks.Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Sherol Gonzalez of Marietta; two brothers, Augustus “Skip” Karr(Sarah) of Indiana and William Karr (Dorothy) of Florida; three grandchildren, Maria Gonzalez of Livonia, MI, Alvaro Gonzalez (Alletta) of Kettering, OH and Alexandrina Spaeth (Andrew) of Ft. Thomas, KY; and six great-grandchildren, Daniel and Wil, Ana and Alvaro, and William and Alexander.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Everett W. Burdette; and two sons, Terry and Richard Moncrief.Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, 2015 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St. Parkersburg with Rev. Rich McClure officiating. Inurnment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Parkersburg.
