Evelyn Kay Bower, 75, of Parkersburg, died January 17, 2026 at home, under the care of Adoration Hospice following an extended illness. She was born in Parkersburg on June 29, 1950, a daughter of the late Robert K. and Roberta G. Goff. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Sharon Lockhart, of Belpre, OH and brother, Robert "Bobby" Goff of Parkersburg.
Evelyn graduated from Parkersburg High School, WVU of Parkersburg, and Glenville State College. She was employed at the Bureau of Public Debt, starting as a key-punch operator, and retired from there after many years as an accountant.
She loved reading, painting ceramics, music, and collecting baskets and stuffed animals. She loved animals of all kinds and supported "Save the Kitties," finding forever homes for many homeless cats. She rescued two dogs from the local shelter, her beloved Fluffy and King and she spent many happy hours with them.
Surviving is her husband of 58 years, Morris Bower; a niece, Teresa Glasco; and a special friend, Delma Atkinson.
The family would like to thank Hospice for their extraordinary care and compassion during Evelyn's illness, especially Angie and Nicole.
There will be no service or vistation. Cremation services have been entrusted to Lambert Tatman Funeral Home, Green St., Parkersburg. Interment of ashes will be in Bethlehem Cemetery, Grantsville, West Virginia.
