Eva Eileen 'Drain' Leonhart

Eva Eileen ‘Drain’ Leonhart, 88, of Vienna, WV, formerly of Charleston, WV, passed away March 3, 2024 with the compassionate care of Eagle Point Healthcare Center in Parkersburg, WV.

She was born November 5, 1935 in Mineral Wells, WV, daughter of the late William Henry and Glenna Deem Drain, Eva graduated from PHS in 1954 and went on to work at G.C. Murphy Co., Community Bank, and Commerce Bank in Charleston, WV, and her final job was with Chick-fil-a at Grand Central Mall. She was a member of Alpha Iota Sorority, Secretary and Treasurer, and a member of Oakwood Heights Homeowners Association. She was also a devoted member of 36th Street Church of Christ. Eva married the love of her life, John Edward Leonhart, and lived in Charleston, WV until his death in 1992.

She is survived by her brother, Donald Gene Drain (Ruth) of Parkersburg, WV; sisters, Nina Butterfield (Tom) of Waverly, WV and Linda Graham (Charles) of Ohio; and stepson, John Mark Leonhart of Nashville, Tennessee.

In addition to her parents and husband, Eva was preceded in death by her brothers, James E. Drain, E. Dale Drain, and Harold McIntire; as well as an infant sister, Connie Sue Drain.

As per Eva’s requests, there will be no services and her cremated remains will be interred at Parkersburg Memorial Gardens next to her beloved Husband. The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to Eagle Point for the love and care given to Eva and her family.
