Eugene Andrew Diclemente

Eugene A. DiClemente, 86, of Parkersburg, W.Va. passed away on October 21, 2015 at Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling, W.Va.He was born in Flushing, Ohio, a son of the late Andy and Ersilia DiClemente.He was a graduate of Flushing High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army and served in Austria. He was an active life member of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars #1212, the American Legion Post 15, and the Moose Lodge Chapter 543. He held various offices in the DAV #32 including State Commander. He retired from the CSX Railroad with more than 40 years of service, was a member of the Murphytown United Methodist Church and a member of Blennerhassett Stamp Club.He was a devoted brother, husband, father, step-father, grandfather and uncle.He will be remembered for his quick wit, warm smile and his willingness to help friends, family and those in need. Gene was passionate about many governmental issues, enjoyed watching sports, traveling and was an avid reader. He was never at a loss for words. Even though he is now gone, his memory will live on in our hearts.He is survived by one son, Gary; two sisters, Susie and Karen; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-children and nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Nichols DiClemente; brothers, Ray, Marco, Joseph and Francis; and his sister, Alice.Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25, 2015 at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 2333 Pike St., south Parkersburg with Rev. Mary Zimmer officiating with military services by American Legion Post 15. Interment will follow at the Willow Island Cemetery.Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. A gathering of family and friends will be held after the burial at Lambert-Tatman Family Center, 2333 Pike St., South Parkersburg.
