Ethel Kathryn Parsons, 84, born March 27, 1926, to the late Thomas and Edna McVey of Pee Wee, W.Va., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 6, 2011.Her greatest joy was being with her family and card night every Tuesday. She also especially enjoyed Mountaineer football. She was a member of Calvary Mission Church where she served as the treasurer and also a choir member. She took great pride in being a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her true love was being at church with her church family and serving the Lord. She is survived by two daughters, Paula Uppole (Al) of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Pamela Braden (Chuck) of Belpre, OH; three sons, Edward Duane Evans (Doris) of Parkersburg, W.Va., Thomas Evans (Mary) also of Parkersburg, W.Va., and Timmy Evans (Cindy) of Little Hocking, OH; one sister, Margie McVey of Coolville, OH; twenty-three grandchildren; forty-seven great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; special friends, Edward and Sandra Evans of Parkersburg, W.Va., John Evans and Amanda Roberts (Jeremy), all of Davisville, W.Va., and Kim Wolfe of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Delbert Parsons in 1994; four sisters, Eleanor Burner, Anna Evans, Linda Myers, and infant sister McVey; two brothers, Eugene and Gordon McVey; two grandsons, Edward Wayne Evans and Joshua Uppole; and one great-grandson, Stephen Russell Parsons. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 11, 2011, at the Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 400 Green St., Parkersburg, W.Va. with Pastor Jack Brown officiating. Interment will follow at the Evergreen North Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
